Several leading Iowa organizations recently sent a letter to Iowa's U.S. Senators and Representatives expressing "concerns regarding the tremendous impact pharmacy benefit managers (PBMS) have on access to and affordability of medicines, especially patient out-of-pocket costs."
The groups explain, "There are several policy recommendations that are absent from certain legislative proposals but are critical to improving the transparency of prescription drug costs while also ensuring that patients are paying a fair price at the pharmacy counter," and highlight legislative solutions to help lower Iowans out-of-pocket costs for prescriptions.
